Karla Kanora was born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. As a girl she decided to pursue music and at the age of 12 she began to participate in national singing competitions. Later she joined the Cuban group Habana Express touring several cities in the US.
In 2006, she began her career by winning a talent competition, and her hit Only You (Solo tú) was the song that definitely established her as one of the great female artists of Ecuador, earning her recognition as Artist of the Year and as Promising Artist at various radio stations in her country. From then on, Karla Quiñónez became Karla Kanora and leapt from obscurity to popularity.
